Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Katie Thompson, and I will be volunteering in Uganda July 18th, 2011!
Dearest Friends,
This is a life long dream come true for me and I could not be more excited! With Uganda Rural Fund, I will be working to empower AIDS orphans, impoverished youth, and women in Uganda’s rural communities, through educational and sustainable development opportunities.
I am reaching out because the people in Uganda need your help. Most importantly, the children need help: food, clothing, water, shelter, education and love to have a chance at living a happy life. I have saved a lot of my own money, but I cannot do it alone. If you could donate money, it would mean the world, but if you feel you cannot give, I could really use your love and support.
This adventure is one that will be challenging on many levels: mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but it is sure to be an eye opening, life changing experience, too! This volunteer mission to Uganda is deeply personal to me and is the culmination of my greatest passions. This experience is proof that anything is possible if you have a dream, a will, and an undying determination to never give up. Out of no way, and no how... a way has been made. :)
